Privacy Policy

Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your name, email address, and login credentials. We never see or store your password.

Content you create. Resumes, cover letters, job applications, LinkedIn profile data, and portfolio content you add to Throughline are stored in our database so we can provide the service. Resumes drafted without an account are stored only in your own browser until you sign up.

Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

Usage analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which collects anonymized page-view data without cookies and without tracking you across sites.

When you use an AI feature (such as resume tailoring, rewriting, or cover-letter generation), the relevant content — for example, the resume section you asked us to improve and the job description you provided — is sent to third-party AI model providers to generate the result. We only send content when you actively use an AI feature. We do not train AI models on your content.

The Throughline browser extension runs only on LinkedIn profile pages and only acts when you use it. It reads and updates your own LinkedIn profile to sync it with your Throughline account, at your direction and with your review. It does not collect browsing history, does not run in the background, and never accesses your LinkedIn password.

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers required to operate Throughline: Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting, analytics, and portfolio deployment), AI model providers (only when you use AI features), Resend (contact-form email), and lookup services used for features you invoke (such as company-logo and university search).

Deleted resumes, applications, profiles, and portfolio sites are retained briefly so they can be restored, then removed. You can request full deletion of your account and all associated data at any time via our contact form.

You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Contact us and we will honor applicable requests.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and note the new effective date above.
